Victoria Racing Club

Since 1995, Wrights has worked with Australia's premier racing club, the Victoria Racing Club (VRC) on the internationally acclaimed thoroughbred horse racing carnival, the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

In 2003, after working in the Australian racing industry for more than a decade, Wrights worked with the VRC to conceive and implement the Melbourne Cup Tour. The Tour sees the $175,000 trophy travel around the country and across the globe to ensure the Melbourne Cup remains relevant nationally and internationally.

Over the past 20 years, Wrights has been involved in countless special projects with the VRC, including the launch of two new grandstands. The first in 2000 saw 'The Grandstand' built, a brand new stand for VRC Members. In 2015, Wrights successfully managed the sensitive stakeholder announcement that the 90-year-old Member's Old Grandstand would be demolished to make way for a state-of-the-art new facility, now under construction and due to open in 2018.

Each year the team manages media and event issues across the week-long Melbourne Cup Carnival, as well as the media accreditation and on-site media management of more than 1,200 international and local media across lifestyle, sporting and news.
